National Black Police Association for Sarah Everard

The NBPA offers our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sarah Everard. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this truly tragic time.
We are deeply concerned that a woman who walked home, which countless women in London and all over the world undertake every day of their lives, could be killed in such circumstances and was made all the more shocking when we learnt that a Police Officer had been charged with the offence.
No woman should ever feel that she cannot share the same freedoms as others due to fear of unwelcome comments, violence or abuse and collectively we must all strive to ensure that we are working together to eliminate the reasons for why this is not the case in today’s society.
The NBPA will continue to fight for equality and fairness for people from all backgrounds.
